Look elsewhere when

Skip it if long-term footing matters: its AI layer is a fork of Continue, whose upstream is now read-only, and much of the AI code lives in a separate submodule. Stock VS Code with Cline or Kilo Code keeps the editor standard and the agent actively developed.
