About
Formerly known as oTToDev, bolt.diy is the official open-source counterpart to StackBlitz's Bolt.new: an AI development environment where you prompt, run, edit, and deploy full-stack web applications entirely in the browser. Code executes inside WebContainers, giving the agent an integrated terminal, live preview, and Node.js runtime without local toolchain setup, and finished projects can be pushed to GitHub or deployed to Netlify and Vercel. Its defining feature is provider freedom, with more than 19 supported LLM backends including OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, Groq, DeepSeek, Mistral, OpenRouter, Amazon Bedrock, and local models through Ollama or LM Studio, all configurable from the UI. Extras include file locking, diff views, Git integration, and an Electron desktop build alongside pnpm and Docker installs. The code is MIT licensed with about 19,700 GitHub stars and community-driven maintenance under StackBlitz Labs; note that the underlying WebContainers API requires a paid license for production use in commercial, for-profit settings.
