Running one coding agent at a time wastes the parallelism agents make possible; Orca turns them into a fleet. The desktop app from Stably AI launches 30-plus CLI agents, Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, Copilot, Cursor, and anything else that runs in a terminal, each inside its own isolated git worktree, so multiple attempts at the same task proceed simultaneously and you review annotated diffs side by side before merging the winner. Sessions restore across restarts, terminal splits use WebGL rendering with persistent scrollback, a design mode inspects UI elements in embedded Chromium, and iOS and Android companion apps let you monitor long runs from a phone. It installs on macOS, Windows, and Linux via direct download, Homebrew, or AUR, is MIT licensed, and passed 50k GitHub stars during its 2026 run atop the trending charts. The agents bring their own API keys or subscriptions; Orca is orchestration rather than a model, so provider choice and cost stay in your hands, and daily commits keep pace with new agent CLIs.

Should you use Orca?

Pick it when

Pick it when you already use one or more CLI agents such as Claude Code, Codex, or OpenCode and want to run several attempts at the same task in parallel worktrees, compare the annotated diffs side by side, and merge the best one.

Look elsewhere when

Skip it if you have not settled on an agent yet or only run one task at a time: Orca adds no model or agent of its own, and each parallel run multiplies your API spend or subscription usage. A single agent such as OpenCode is the simpler start.

Alternatives to Orca

Cline
Its web task board also runs parallel agents in separate git worktrees with auto-commit, but only Cline agents rather than any terminal CLI you like.
Muse Code
Parallel background subagents in isolated trees are built into one agent, but it is locked to Meta's closed metered model on macOS or Linux.
Cursor
Mission Control supervises parallel and cloud background agent runs, but inside a proprietary editor rather than across agents you choose.
