Transformers is the Hugging Face library that serves as a shared model-definition framework for text, vision, audio, video, and multimodal machine learning. It provides thousands of pretrained models with a consistent API for inference and training across PyTorch, and historically TensorFlow and JAX. Because model definitions are centralized here, they stay compatible across the wider ecosystem of training and serving tools. Apache 2.0 licensed.
