About
ElizaOS has grown from a TypeScript character-agent framework into what the project calls an agentic operating system: the same MIT-licensed codebase powers the Eliza assistant app on desktop, mobile, and web plus a bootable OS runtime for Linux and Android. Agents built on it get a plugin registry, persistent memory, and connectors spanning Discord, Telegram, WhatsApp, Slack, X, Farcaster, and iMessage, along with browser automation and computer use, voice and vision processing, and a non-custodial crypto wallet covering EVM chains and Solana, which made it a fixture of the web3 agent scene. On-device inference is available through the Eliza-1 model family based on Gemma, while cloud model providers plug in through configuration. Development runs on TypeScript with Bun as the package manager, the elizaos CLI scaffolds new projects and plugins, and prebuilt apps are downloadable from GitHub releases. With around 18.8k stars, more than 200 contributors, and over 11,000 commits on the develop branch, it remains one of the most active open agent ecosystems, documented at docs.elizaos.ai.
