Built for agents that need to execute code they just wrote, this platform runs each sandbox as a separate Firecracker microVM restored from a snapshot of an already booted machine, which keeps launches quick and keeps untrusted code away from your host. Python and JavaScript SDKs create sandboxes, run shell commands, read and write files and expose ports; companion packages add a code interpreter interface for executing snippets and a desktop sandbox with mouse, keyboard and screenshot control for computer-use agents. Sandboxes can be paused, resumed and forked, and templates are built from Docker images. The hosted service at e2b.dev has a free Hobby tier with a one-time usage credit, then a monthly Pro plan billed per second of use. The Go backend, now published as E2B Runtime, is also Apache 2.0: its Embed package brings up the full stack on one Linux host with KVM through Docker Compose, with Terraform for GCP and a Kubernetes manifest, though E2B calls that an evaluation setup and sells dedicated production deployments.
