About
Chroma is an open-source embedding database for AI applications, with a small Python and JavaScript API for adding documents, embedding them with a chosen model, and running similarity search. It supports persistent local storage, in-memory mode, and a hosted Chroma Cloud service for serverless vector, hybrid, and full-text search. Released under Apache 2.0; release cadence is roughly weekly via PyPI and npm.
