AutoGPT
Platform for building and running autonomous agents that execute complete workflows from goals.
About
AutoGPT began as the 2023 experiment that kicked off the autonomous agent wave and has since grown into a full platform for building, deploying, and running agents that break goals into subtasks and execute complete workflows. The current product spans four surfaces: AutoPilot for chat-based agent creation, a visual Build editor where drag-and-drop blocks compose workflows, an Agents dashboard for monitoring, and a Marketplace of prebuilt community agents, with runs triggered on demand, on schedules, or by events. Self-hosting is free and requires Docker, your own infrastructure, and model API keys, with install scripts for macOS, Linux, and Windows, while a managed paid cloud at platform.agpt.co bundles model access and more than 45 integrations. Licensing is split: the platform code uses Polyform Shield 1.0.0, free for personal and internal business use but not resellable as a competing hosted service, while the classic components remain MIT. At roughly 185.7k stars it is among the most-starred AI repositories on GitHub, with documentation at docs.agpt.co.
